So after this thread, i found this initial design. i have decided that a 5.1 Switch is a must for my set up to toggle between my surround sound system & 5.1 roccat cave headset - which is supercool. i searched all internet & china ebay stock to find something similar with no avail. so...
THERE IS NO 5.1 SWITCH IN THIS WORLD!!!
... since 5.1 headsets becoming popular amongst gamers i thought i might share with OCN some ideas.
this headset got a control unit, so i wanted to find a box that i would stick under it nicely so the switches and sockets are on the side.
i bought the right size box, 3 DPDT switches and 9 female 3.5 audio stereo sockets.
then i got to work. let the photos talk...

Photo number:

1 - holes cut but not straight enough... should have used pilothole.

2 - that box had some unnecesary plastic that had to be removed.

3 - cutting switch holes.

4 - filing.

5 - mess.
