hey guys!

since it's been a while since i did a proper mod, the itching started again

so after a bit bit of searching around and cleaning out some stuff, i found a nice little case, and some old parts...
so i thought....why not make a nice HTPC with these old parts

and so it began...Project Scrapheap

this is the old case that's gonna be abused

already put some bondo in the floppy slot

the system that's gonna go in

i love that cooler

the entire system scattered over the floor

only things i bought are this...

that's long! that's what she said!

so far i've already hacked up the aluminium to make a side panel / door

and made some little plates to strengthen the corners and attach the window to

so after some rivets it looks like this

the rest of the planning for the day is to hide the connections with bondo, drill out the last rivets in the case so i can start making so cable-management holes, and maybe attach the hinges for the door

so...i'll keep you updated, but now i'm gonna mod some more in the sun

finally it's time for a little update!

here comes a pic-bomb!

i started with dissassembling the case till i ended up with this...

after some bondo the front ended up like this:

and the doorframe ended up like:

with a nice close up of the corners

the stupid grill had to go...

i even had time for some painting...primer applied

unfortunatly the front is clearly not ready yet

gotta sand some more, and use some more bondo

that's it for today...
i just found my airbrush, so i'm gonna see if that still works, maybe i can use that for some nice painting

Maybe if you are going to use the bondo again its an idea to put some in the rivets, so they look flat

Cant wait to see more mate

look flat? how do you mean? the heads?
that's already in the planning

hopefully i can finish this tomorrow so it'll be ready for some colors

why can't you?
all i used so far is a saw for the aluminium, some sandpaper, and some spray-bondo (spuit-plamuur)(don't know what it's called in english lol)
so it's all pretty simple to do, you just need some time and imagination

You are right about that Psycho, and the painting part is not that difficult for me.
I used to be an painter. and spuitplamuur= spray putty

So i just decided that i wil look verry often to this project, and others 2
So one day i wil do some serious modding myself

Thanks for the inspiration

A good preparation is 50% of al the work

902 should be a nice project
biggrin.gif

make holes for cables, remove top so you can hide a 240 rad in there with some fans, make room in the front for a 360 rad, maybe a nice new color, fill up any weird holes/spaces.
i would love a 902 as a project! now i want one

all i have left are 2 old cases, 1 tower and 1 old desktop

You have ot plenty of ideas haha.

I would chop the big fan on top of, i hate that thing.
I prefer 4 smaller ones on top.

And watercooling thats something i'm afraid of haha
But on the other side eager to do it.
