you should just be able to attach the cat 5 from your computer straight to the PS3 then transfer anything you need.

i am tryin to take my computer and transfer the music to my ps3 with just a regular either net cable is possible and how would i come to do this without a router

no special options on the comp or the ps3
i dont believe so but i could be wrong, i would hook it up. and go into your network and see what devices you can see.

I'm thinkin you'd probably need a crossover cable-- and you would have to set up media sharing.
