There are a million reasons why you can get a BSOD and the PSU is only one of them so it might not be related to the PSU
With that being said the CX450 is not all that great and something like a Seasonic Focus Plus GX or a Fractal Design Ion+ are far better but again the PSU might not be the problem

Maybe with the OC, the PSU can no longer power the PC and BSODs. I know when I upgraded my daughter's computer with a 8350 and an RX 580 I also upgraded her no name 500W PSU to a Rosewill 650W.

Well, duh, if you OC your GPU beyond normal clocks, without touching the voltage, it will crash/BSOD.

The GPU is ~170W, with OC, it could go to 250W. While this is pushing this PSU (CPU 95W + GPU 250W on max OC, and rest of system another 50W), it should still be enough to handle it.

Its probably your OC that is crappy.
Next time at least say whats the BSOD actually...
