the fan in my current psu is 120mm and uses a 2 pin connector. however i have a spare 120mm fan that i would like to throw in there because the stock fan is pretty loud. but the spare fan uses a 3pin connector. will i be able to use my spare fan on my current psu?

possible. on some power supplies, it is wired in directly and does not use a connector (dont know how common this is,but my old one did it)
and if not, then you could just use a converter i would Imagen...though you would have to be comfortable opening up the psu...don't forget the hs in that etc is live, dont give your self a shock

You could take out the old fan and hack off the connector then reconnect it to the current fan just make sure that black goes to black and red/yellow go to red/yellow. Also don't get anywhere near the capacitors because most likey they will still have a huge charge in them still. Best bet would be take it apart and leave it unplugged overnight then work on it the next day.
