On my psu, the ST1000, is the fan on it exhausting hot air? would it be worth it to cut a hole in the bottom of my case and flipping it?

If the unit isn't overheating (would probably whine), then it probably isn't getting hot enough to blow out hot air.

How would exausting the air outside your case rather than inside help at all? If it's not blowing out hot air, then it's not raising your internal ambient temps, and therefore not heating up your other components.

Some say flipping them isn't good on them but i have had mine flipped in my antec 900 and now my antec 1200 and have never had a problem.

I would definitely go for it because the more hot air you can get out of your case the better!
