So the rampage3 board requires 2 of the 8 pin 12v connectors but the corsair hx850 comes with one. The only way I was able to get it to work was to steal the cable I needed from a hx1000 in my other rig. Anyone ever have this issue??

im pretty sure you only need to connect only one of the 8pin cpu connectors. having both wont hurt but is intended for some serious ln2 overclocking (7ghz or more
). connect one 8pin connectors at a time and see if it works.

I was actually looking at the mobo manual and it wasnt very clear. I was under the impression both needed to be plugged in. Im just irritated my HX850 did not come with the extra plug.

you only need 1....requiring 2x EPS 8 pin CPU power plugs is only when you need to go extreme OC's with LN2 etc and when you want to pump extreme volts into your CPU
