I have a seasonic X-750 one of the 3.3v, one of the 5v and one of the ground wires is split into two at the motherboard connector. I am trying to sleeve it and because if the split wire the heatshrink makes it too big to fit.
I was wondering if it would be ok for me to clip one of the ends at the PSU side and just use a single wire at the motherboard connector? Im guessing this should be fine, but just wanted to ask to be sure before i toasted some of my gear. Or should i move the split and then sleeve that way?

That's part of the voltage sense circuit. There should be a few other wires like that as well. Don't mess with them or you could affect the PSU's voltage regulation, or perhaps it might refuse to turn on.

I'm not sure. V-sense circuitry can be a little finnicky. With that setup it would be monitoring the voltage at the point it leaves the PSU, as opposed to where it reaches the motherboard. That would cause a difference in reading, thus a difference in output voltage, but it might not be a big enough difference to be an issue.

No worries, i think ill stick with splitting them near the psu, thanks again
