I need help picking a pump. I was thinking Hydor L35 or L40 if I could find one but then i read of a problem. The pumps are only recommended for 5-35c... Now I eventually plan to add a chiller and I was wondering if I could trust that pump... also do I have to get tygon tubing... I was trying to cheap it out and not get tygon.

Danner Mag 3 or Mag 5 work very well at low temps. Probably your best bet, as I know for a fact that they work at sub zero temps. They also have some of the best flow rates in the business.

For the tubing, try and find some clearflex60. www.dangerden.com and www.dtekcustoms.com sell it for like $1.50 to $2.00 per foot. www.mcmaster.com sells it for the cheapest price out there though. Go to their main page, then click "plastic tubing," then go to page 85, it's the "chemical tubing" in the left column. You will want 1/2 ID, 3/4" OD (.65/ft).

EHIEMS are good pumps too.
