Im not sure.. but I think it might be the other way around. Pumping water up a tube is harder then pumping it sideways <img alt="" class="inlineimg" src="/images/smilies/wink.gif" style="border:0px solid;" title="Wink">

No, Slade, you had it right. Pumps always feed the center/impeller and throw it out the side. That's the same configuration as my Laing D5 pump.<br><br>
If you have ANY doubts grab a bucket of water and hook up the pump alone,<br>
and marvel at the wonder of discovery.<img alt="" class="inlineimg" src="/images/smilies/wink.gif" style="border:0px solid;" title="Wink">

It's easier to suck in the side, the impeller thing spins, sucking it in, and pushing it out the top.

You got it right, center low pressure, side high pressure..

So, we now have 3 offered opinions: 1 from a WC'er and 2 from those on Air.<br>
But rather than argue the mechanics of pump impellers..........what make and model is your pump Slade?<br><br>
Never mind, I type to slow.

The diagram is correct- All centrifugal pumps are oriented the same way.

All pumps are made with the outlet (up) and inlet (side) <img alt="" class="inlineimg" src="/images/smilies/biggrin.gif" style="border:0px solid;" title="Big Grin">
