We have no doubts about Prolimatech's renowned reputation for top cooling products, but the Samuel 17 is a different breed since it's not designed for absolute killer overclocking performance. It will be interesting to see if it can live up to its moniker, reflecting the David and Goliath story from the Bible. Can this little cooler succeed?

Wow... it barely beats the stock heatsink.

For those that don't know this is the heatsink that comes with an i7 870:

It would probably perform worse than a stock AMD heatsink

i already looked at other reviews for it, it performs about 4C worse then the Thermalright axp-140, but listed at a much more reasonable price(40$)

edit: here are the other two reviews i found, been looking for something along the lines of this for awhile that wouldn't cost me 80$.

The Samuel is 11 degrees cooler than the stock heatsink at load. It doesn't seem to "barely" beat the stock heatsink.
