So I'm looking to spend only a little and improve my CPU cooling. I'd like to rig a push//pull on the radiator of my COOLIT cpu cooler: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16835227006

I know I can just replace the whole thing and get a "real" water cooled system but I"m looking to spend as little as possible on this.

Does higher CFM directly relate to better cooling on a push/pull system?

This isn't in a bedroom so I don't care about noise that much.

Higher CFM does relate directly to better cooling in some instances, but that depends on the fin density of your cooler's radiator, which you have to find out about. If the fin density is higher, than you benefit a lot from higher CFM but the trade-off is higher fan noise. If your radiator is lower fin density, than you do not benefit much from higher CFM fans, so you'll be fine with slower (quieter) fans. You can crank the fans on a lower density radiator, but the benefit seen will be less than the benefit of cranking fans on a high density radiator.

I guess look around for the fin density, and I'd definitely go into the H50/H70 thread and follow recommendations for whichever has a similar fin density to your radiator.

Oh, and a possibly less expensive and just as effective means of improving performance may be a radiator, but again, do some research in the H50/H70 thread to see what people are doing there for the most improvement, since your cooler is likely to be similar to those.

Not necessarily. From what I understand high "static pressure" is what you should look for when picking good radiator fans.

Gentle Typhoons 1850RPM are peoples best choice for rad fans.
They are hard to find at times tho.

Thank you all. I will write an update on the difference after I add the push pull system to this radiator.
