I know a little about vrms, but may have a few incorrect knowledges about it.

Doubler:
- Interleaves PWM signal for each phase
- Cuts switching frequency into half
- Due to decreased frequency for each phase, general efficiency is increased
- Current load distributed to two phases, thermal advantages

Dual Output:
- Actually a single phase with doubled components
- Load distributed, thermal advantages

Anything to add or anything wrong?

- And the fan runs at 1/2 speed and moves less than 1/2 the air.
Dual Output:
- Actually a single phase with doubled components
- Load distributed, thermal advantages

Yes. A PWM fan controller (either motherboard or add on) lets you adjust fan speed for the amount of cooling you actually need. As for noise, use fans that have the noise level you seek at the airflow you need.

He's talking about VRMs. Not fan controllers.

Oh. Thought it was a typo. VRM / PWM
