Anyone here have a q6600 still under warranty and has gone through an rma with intel?

Reason I am asking is one of my q6600 just died and I was wondering since the q6600 has been out of production for so long, how is intel going to replace it under warranty... give me a different quad?

Reason is that I don't think any of the current quads out there have a 8MB cache... all of the are 4,6,12.... would suck to get an lower 4/6MB cache cpu back when you originally had a 8MB one...

Just a thought before I call intel in the morning.

Errr,

I would have thought it would have been out of warranty at the moment anyway.

Almost any respectable company replaces hardware with the same or better. I recently RMAed an 8800GTS 512 video card to BFG (before they closed down) and received a GTX 260 216SP as a replacement. I would think Intel would do the same.
