I will be building a new computer later this month when the Intel slashes their prices.

I was originally set on buying the E6750 ($183) because of its OC'ing abilities! (3.9Ghz on stock hs!) But then again... The Q6600 is going to be priced at $266. Now, I am building an entire rig (including OS, no keyboard/mouse/monitor) and I am set on the P182b (which I found for $150 shipped).

So the dilemma, should I go for the E6750 and then be able to get DDR2-800 (Ballistix or G.SKILL HZ), P35-DS3R

OR

Get the Q6600, go budget on the RAM/Mobo/PSU.

Man, now that I typed this out... I just realized how budget I would have to go! Do you think its possible to get the Q6600 on my budget (with the P182b) full build?

Thanks guys!

the Q6600 will be around $266 as will the e6600 around July 22nd I beleive that the Quad core will serve you better because when multi threaded apps begin to go mainstream you'll get a major boost in performance

I am the type that doesn't buy a computer every year or every other year... but i just don't think i can fit a q6600 in my budget. However, I feel that the E6750 will be sufficient for a while. I mainly play CSS & FEAR. Will be buying some new games with the new rig.

no the q6600 is worth it. More and more programs are being multithreaded and this is one area where that matters.

If it isn't stable its crap.

My p4 can go to 5ghz and not be stable

(also that article could have had the throtling all the way up so the speed doesn't matter.,..........
