Hey, I've just got a Q9400 to replace my E2140, i plugged everything in and when I reach the windows loading screen my PC shuts down, I tried to enter the BIOS to look at the settings but the PC also shut down there. I put my E2140 again and it worked just fine. Though there is some sort of a sticker on the Q9400 with a code on it [barcode or something, dunno] could it be the problem? I know the my motherboard supports 45nm quad cores, and I've seen people with the same motherboard and same CPU, can you guys help please?

Maybe its the Bio version.

Leme check, you need the bios version 0701 for the Q9400, E2140 uses the same version Bios... Hmmm.

Check your Bio version anyways.

I would clean that sticker off of it too, that certainly can't be helping matters. My E6750 did the same thing when my HSF died. So it could be a thermal issue.
