Q9550 - My first OC experience

Good day!
So I'm trying my first CPU OC experience and have some problem here.
I set the clocks to 3.4 Ghz and voltage 1.3. Memory voltage 2.1 (I checked voltages for my memory on Corsair website) memory is 1:1. So still not stable, even 20 minutes in OCCT = Errors. Why ? Seems like pretty easy OC.

run memtest 86, to rule out your ram, then you can fully concentrate on the cpu


Did you run a stress test when it was at stock ?

Yep, with stock clocks everything seems cool (4-5 hours tested).

Sorry, I'm kinda newbie could you explain a bit more fully please what does it mean - to rule out memory?

it means to stress test your rams to be sure that they are not the problem and you in fact get the error because cpu instability
