Question about 5.1 Speakers.

250 Views 5 Replies 5 Participants Last post by  I AM TEH LAW GIVAH
If I purchase a Logitech X-530 or X-540 can I turn off 3 speakers to make it 2.1 when I am watching videos, or will it always be set to 5 speakers and sub?

Thanks In Advance.

It depends on your audio software, but the drivers for my sound card allows me to use a lot of presets, including 2.1, 2.0, 5.1, 5.0, 4.1, etc.

In the end, it's more of a software issue than it is hardware.
Why would you want it to be only 2.1? 5.1 is AWESOME I just got a new amp like 3 days ago and it does 5.1 and its SOOO Much better than stereo.
If you're going to play stereo audio files it will be 2.1, the x-540 also has 'matrix' mode where it can manipulate the 2.1 audio to 5.1

Why do you want to buy 5.1 speakers if you're going to use it as a 2.1 system?

Only want to play games on 5.1.

youtube, movies, videos i prefer everything at earshot. dont want to be to noisy and bug people in the house. with 5.1 for every little thing i do that plays audio.
