I have been running Xenserver for a few years now on a free basis and I recently installed ESXI 5.1. I have 54 days left for my ESXi evaluation. Can you use ESXi for free after the evaluation? I am running 4 vms.
Create a VMWare account and get the Hypervisor key. Then in the vSphere client go to the tab Configuration and look for Licensed Features. Under there is where you put the Hypervisor key. Then you should be good to go. I did that same thing.
