Questions: Antec 1200, Asus RIIE, PSU, Fans, RAID, Software, and more

If you have the Antec 1200 and/or the Asus Extreme Rampage II motherboard, or even if you don't, I have some questions.

1. If you have the Asus Extreme Rampage II, could you possibly look in your manual or off of your head tell me the maximum power ratings possible for the CPU fans without blowing the header? I would like to know if I need a fan controller for my upcoming build, because there will be two high speed fans cooling a 920 w/ a Prolimatech Megahalems.

2. I have some very high quality speakers and headphones, and I'm sure the quality of the supplied soundcard will be not be great, so what is the best all-purpose sound card I can get off of this page http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...20Express%20x1

3. If I get this soundcard, will I be able to use it in the bottommost PCI x 16 slot due to the lack of room in the top PCI x 1?

4. I would like to know what the best 120 x 38 CPU cooling fans are. When I get my Megahalems, I would like to setup a push/pull with two of these fans, and I am expecting some pretty extreme i7 OCing, over 4Ghz at the very least.

5. How is the Antec 1200's stock cooling?

6. What is the best 1000W power supply to go with the Antec 1200? Please help me choose one from this page http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...01%20-%201000W and keep in mind that the antec 1200 does not have a bottom fan grille so PSUs with bottom fans must be turned over, and this could mean that PSUs that are meant to draw in cool air are drawing in hot case air.

7. If my build requires a fan controller for whatever CPU cooling fans that are chosen, what is the best fan controller?

8. http://www.frozencpu.com/products/99...dow.html#blank This is the only place where I found custom Antec 1200 windows. Is there anywhere else that is cheaper?

9. Please tell me, straightforwardly, what you think the best TIM is and how I should apply it when I get the cooling components. Does it go on both the CPU and the Megahalems?

10. I have 3 OCZ Agility 120GB SSDs that will be used in a RAID0 Array in my upcoming build. I hear there is something called strip size. What will I set this as?

11. I hear there will be some extreme SSD deterioration because TRIM does not work while in a RAID array. Is there any way to get around this?

12. After I receive all of my parts and build my computer, what is every single piece of software that I will need? I mean software for stress tests, diagnostics, whatever software that is industry standard for system builders that overclock their systems and test for stability.

A million thanks to all who help me with my first build!

Fan headers are more than likely going to provide enough power for any fan. You're good.

I don't keep up with sound cards, but I remember hearing good things about HDAV 1.3 and D2X so I would recommend those over the Creatives for sound quality (music). Google some reviews or check Head-Fi for more info.

IIRC, you can use PCIe x1 cards in full x16 slots. Don't quote me on this though.

Panaflos or San Aces. Which fans will be up to how loud you want your case to be.

You're getting an Antec 1200. Don't worry about it.

The Corsair HX1000 is a crowd favorite here at OCN. Top of the line PSU in performance and build quality.

I say just keep the regular window. You can mount a fan for more cooling for the video cards(s).

9. Please tell me, straightforwardly, what you think the best TIM is and how I should apply it when I get the cooling components. Does it go on both the CPU and the Megahalems?

OCZ Freeze or IC 7 (Diamond TIM) and follow the instructions on manufacturers website.

128KB is the general size on regular (not an SSD) hard drive.

Head on over to OCN's Download section. Get HWmonitor, CPUz, Prime 95, Rivatuner, and ATI Tools/Furmark/3DMark06.

Wow. I don't think I've ever seen a post with more questions.

By the way, this should of been in Intel General Section

Thanks for replying. I know a lot of people automatically go for the back button when they see threads like this, so you've definitely earned some rep from me
The only question that remains is what exact fans for the CPU cooler. I looked for San Aces but they're all out of stock everywhere. Could I possibly get a link? Oh, and also, when did people start preferring OCZ Freeze over AS? Everywhere I look, AS5 has better temps. than OCZ. Is there something I'm missing here 0_o

Several professional TIM roundup reviews had OCZ Freeze and IC7 ranked over AS5. I doubt that I'm wrong, but who knows.

First link on google searching for Sidewinder: http://www.sidewindercomputers.com/120mmfans.html

Google is your friend.

antec 1200 is great, the tricools are kinda crappy fans (i say crappy because they get loud at high) but since their are 3, it does move air in the case, i am going to change them to coolermaster r4's (the three front ones and maybe the two back ones since they move more are and are quieter) for a plain good TIM use AS5, their are some better ones out their (like noctuas) but they cost too much and you arent getting more than 3c out of it.. id say get the corsair 1000w psu because this psu works great, i hear nothing but praise about corsair psus, and i know that when they say it puts out 100w, they mean continuous power (i want it but cant justify the buy since my 750 can easily handle anything i throw at it)
