Hey guys,

So I'm in the process of moving my signature rig into its new home inside of a CaseLabs M8 with Pedestal (ohmygodohmygod) and it's great so far. The only thing I want to change is the way I have the two GTX 580 blocks linked for parallel water routing.

I'm doing it the old fashioned way right now using 4 compression fittings and two lengths of measured and cut tubing between them. It's cool but I want something more sturdy. The actual SLI water bridge offerings from XSPC don't work with my blocks (I have the two year old XSPC 580 Razor waterblocks and their water bridges only work with their GTX 680 blocks and newer) so I've found this strange creature:

Which looks fine, and it should work, but... It looks like the crystal portion just slides into the C47/C48 adapters and hangs there without any kind of o ring or threads to keep it in place and keep it sealed. My blocks in parallel are fed from the bottom with big sturdy Koolance quick disconnects so I'm afraid that over time the weight of those being attached to the lower card could pull the cards apart ever so slightly and create a leak where the crystal unseats from the Bitspower adaptor fittings.

So do these things actually have an O ring in them that I can't see? Are they held in place with friction? Has anyone used them and had a bad experience? Let me know! Thanks

those crystal links have 2 O rings inside of them , shown here in a better picture ,


so you should not have any problems , as long as you squeeze them together tight and then screw in the PCI brackets firmly .

Hi there,

The C47 fittings actually have a double o-ring inside. I am not too sure about the C48, but if I am not wrong, then the C48 is the 'slim' version of the C47, and only has 1 o-ring inside.

I have used crystal link +c47s for SLI, and they fit snugly and tightly without any leaks. Just make sure to fully insert the tube into the fittings.
You can always do a test fit to begin with and look through the other end of the fitting to judge how far you need to push it for it to be fully inserted.

"... These short pieces of tubing are used to couple two graphics cards and bridge the distance between them accordingly. The adapter in turn is a kind of connector which is, however, unlike normal fittings not pushed but plugged. For this is provided by two rubber sealing rings."
