You either have loud and powerful or slow and quiet. You should just hook up your Panaflo's to a fan controller (if you haven't already).

Do you have a fan controller? If you turn down the Panaflos, they will still move lots of air with plenty of static pressure, but with less noise

Well you can look at San Aces (which I use), they undervolt incredibly well and the 1011's outperform Panaflo's. Only thing is they cost more.

Newark.com sells Sanyo Denki fans (where I buy them now), so check them out.

It says lead time http://www.newark.com/sanyo-denki/9g...fan/dp/96M1755 is 94 days with 0 availability. Add to the fact that they are 20 a pop. If he does a push pull, that's 160 for fans.

These are available though. http://www.newark.com/multicomp/mc19...fan/dp/70K8508

Yup, that sounds about right. San Aces are very popular, so they are both hard to find and expensive. But, they are worth it if you're looking to undervolt a powerful fan.

Sorry, I bought their last 2 about a month ago. Just hooked them up to a fan controller an hour ago (they come "bare wire" so you have to do minor modding). They undervolt very very well indeed.

If money and weight are no object, newark does have some metal ones in stock. But money REALLY has to be no object at $91 each.

So you need to sleeve and add a connector? Any pics of how they come?

You can't have quiet fans that are high CFM. Your best bet is to buy high speed fans and use a fan controller to tame them down when you want more silence. Then you an turn them back up when you're gaming, when everything heats up.

Just put a 3-pin on it.

Not sure if that is entirely true, yes they may still be noisy in comparison to a very quiet but thats all relative.

Things that change how loud a fan is gonna be for the same cfm are number of fins and fin design. Take for granted there are alot of roughly 70cfm fans that range from 28db to 40db, same cfm but huge changes in sound.
