Sorry to double post... but I cannot pass this up...<br><br>
You have obviously not had one blow up in your face and then given the old heave-ho from the company. They use cheap parts. They no longer sell the el cheapo basic boxes... at least we couldnt see them at work.<br><br>
Dell is not a very good company. They sell a lot of PCs because of the price and included features (monitors speakers etc). And some people just straight up don't know better.

EXACTLY!!!!<br><br>
Plus... the warranty is usually BETTER!!! Why/How? My HDD has a 7 year warranty, PSU and RAM are lifetime. Dell is usually 1 year. When I got one, it was 90 days. That is truely pathetic, and no, you cannot RMA parts (HDD) to the manufacturer (WD)... I tried.

Confuseded <img src="/images/smilies/confused.gif" border="0" alt="" title="Confused" class="inlineimg" /> <br />
<br />
Yeah, Dell's are over-priced for what one gets, but they are decent Basic PC's. Great for WP, Excel, I browsing, e-mail....but not too much more.<br />
<br />
I had one for a few years (P4 @ 2.66 [20x133]) and it was great for the activities listed above, and for some school work...<br />
<br />
Those were the simple days...

</div>'cause on one hand mine served flawelessly for 3 years and went through several RAM and VGA upgrades. Then I sold it (box only - sans HDD) for something like $80.00 and it is still going strong.<br />
<br />
..on the other hand, I was ripped off. I know that now. But considering that the majority of people don't know what a Multiplier is, it is good PC for them.<br />
<br />
I suppose one pays for their ignorance. <br />
<br />
Ignorance is not a dig in my book -unless willfull, it is the absence of knowledge... fairly easy to remedy in this day and age.
