What do you think the better card is, for performance in games. Not graphics, but performance. If i turned the graphics on way low for each card, which card would run faster/more FPS in games such as Counter-Strike Source.
keeping in mind i have about 1 gig ram :/

I would go with the FX5500 Because I have had experience with it and it ran CS:Source on medium high @ about 55FPS. Also can run Far Cry on High Detail!

Neither are great. Wha's your budget? A 7300GT for around $70 would do better than both put together.

I'm not buying anything, so don't bother trying to give prices etc, thanks anyway .

I'm just trying to find out what the better graphics card for performance is.

Ok the truth is the 9200pro is. The Geforce FX5500 is a slightly OCed FX5200.
The only advantage the FX5500 has is DX9, but thats where the advantage ends.

If it has a fan it might be better at overclocking. I just checked the graphics card ranking thread, and the FX 5500 was just slightly above the 9200 PRO. You may have to run games in DX8 mode though, if possible, to see reasonable performance.

9200 has DX 9, especially in Source.

If you have both jsut test them, I ran Source on a 5200 and worked ok as long as it wasn't 64 man server

Allright. When i play on servers with like, 16 vs 16, And there are quite a lot of people on screen, it starts to lag, But i guess i can't do anything about that unless i get a new card + more ram maybe? (talking about the nvidia by the way)

Umm, What if i ran in DirectX 7?

the 9200 is the RV280 aka based on R200 or 8500. The 9200pro uses DirectX 8.1 with Shadermodel 1.4 and vertex shader 1.2. That is not DirectX 9.
