I know how a lot of people like the PC to be quiet and all but I am not to worried about the noise I want performance myself. I take the Tim the tool man Taylor approach to cooling.. all my fans are on full speed sure it makes a lot of noise.

But then again think of the benifits of moving volumes of air.. break out the 100' extension cord and walk the pc around the yard and use it as a leaf blower..

How about a poll.. who like quiet PC's?
Who likes Noise and performance?
Who really does not care?
Other... Please specify..

i like performance! i dont care how loud it is as long as it puts out good numbers:shades2:
the only time i care is when i leave it on overnight, that why i gotta fan controller

i dont want it too loud but i like the performance
Doesn't matter what I do, rheostats, switchs, "value" fans... my computer is always loud.. I'm cursed in that category... lol
Ahh but Music is louder than computer! performance all the way. lol
I like my PCs loud, whether or not they are kicking out much performance.
"That's what a PC is supposed to sound like."
Just though of another use for the high volume uotput of air...

1. Hair dryer
2. Hand dryer
3. Leaf Blower

any others? lol
I like performcance more then noise but can do with the drone of fans if neccesary, I just don't like the high pitched noisy fans and replace them with less rpm more cfm fans. loud is ok, as mong as it's not high pitched.
i like high performance, i dont care about noise, but i do mind it when i leave it on folding overnight... then i needa get a fan controller, but it doesen't kill me during the day.
I like my machine to sound like a 747 jumbo jet engine

Louder=Impression of supreme performance.

Lol.

I dont care about noise that much, I'll avoid it if I can, but if getting performance means having a computer that sounds like a plane taking off then so be it.

I dont care, loud fans, extra cables coming out of my box... It's all worth it to me.

Not far off mate. I've actually strapped a 60mm Delta fan (the same make as the big on in your machine) to my graphics card!!!

Hmmmmmm.....
let me think......
6x30dB=90dB+30=120(only case fans) and noise prodused by hdd~20dBavg+40dB(52xcdrw+16xdvd)=160dB+gpu's noise+cpuh\\s'.......
It's just like MIG29 at full thortle...... Not very loud.....
there are 10 fans in my case. six 80s for case airflow. two more 80s (i think) in the PSU. the CPU fan. And then the arctic silencer 5 bolted to the vid card.

just this case by itself can be heard from downstairs. if the gameroom door is open. i have yet to clock anything... i think it would be a good idea to learn how to turn my fans up to the REAL full blast before i do any clocking...

what concerns me more than noise, is the fact that this thing is the most efficient (and expensive) space heater i have ever owned. it'll roast you outta the room if ya shut the door with the A/C off.
i strike a balance for noise to cooling ratio, best way ive found to do that? be pickyabout the fans you buy

it doesn't bother me how loud it is. the louder, the better
