Ram Suggestions ? 2x2gb DDR2 - Good Overclockers?

Ok so i'm having a really hard time deciding on 2x2gb modules. Currently my XMSII 2x1gb's can do 1100mhz 5-5-5-15-(2)

I want something that can do 1100mhz or 1200mhz... Supposedly the Ballistix overclock well, but i'm not sure how much more i can squeeze out of the G.Skill. i'm a big fan of G.skill, but i'm still unsure as to how they are clocked. Is it just ram that can overclock to that speed and is advertised at 1100 or 1066? really just 800? was never sure about that even if what i just asked sounds odd. So basicly i want something with decent timings that can overclock well.

G.skill 1100 is at 1.8-1.9 volts. So it makes me wonder how much i can get out of them with 2.0 - 2.1 v. ??...

Ballistix Tracer... First review on there said 1200mhz.. hope that is true. Besides i'm really digging the red ^_-

Any suggestions appreciated. I want to keep it under $80.. really can't justify the price anymore for DDR2 as its so cheap. I would rather spend less, but might pay for the 1100mhz G.skill

G.SKILL DDR2 1066 is only $52.99 !!! and i'll be going 8GB soon after for Graphics Animation purposes.

Now i was looking at

Crucial Ballistix Tracer DDR2 800 (PC2 6400)

$66.99

G.SKILL DDR2 1066 (PC2 8500)

$52.99

G.SKILL DDR2 1100 (PC2 8800)

my vote goes for anything g.skill the set i have overclock perfectly. even though mine are a bit slower then the ones you have chosen

i have heard great things about those
Most of the 1066 2x2GB kits are Powerchips and will do ~1100 MHz at 5-5-5-15.
The cheapest right now are the Reapers, but Dominators, Mushkin XP and GSkill are in the same boat.
If you want to go higher, the Pi 1100s will get ~1160 MHz at 5-5-5-15. Don't believe higher voltage will get you more, these are not the old D9s and they don't scale with voltage.
Ballistix have been having reliability problems.
gskill 1100mhz ftw.
Based on the price, I would go for GSKill PK 1066 in your list. Also, take a look at this $54 PI 1000.

Crucial = eff no.
G.Skill 1066 = sure, it's cheap 1066; don't expect much more.
G.Skill 1100 = sure, it's cheap 1100, but i've never seen it do 1200.

Keep in mind 8 GB is a PITA for getting high speeds truely stable on most mobos...

There is nothing wrong with the red ballistix, it was the yellow ones that had problems.

There are more issues with the [yellow] D9GMH kits, yes.

But the [red] D9JKH ones have had them as well.

There's no reason to buy Micron that has a good chance of crapping out when there's perfectly good reliable PSC, ProMOS, & Qimonda-based kits.

Agreed, but people don't seem to make a difference between them.

I have the PI 8800's myself, great set. Lovely low voltage.

I say the Reaper, its what I use and it's been awesome! Everything is stable as a rock with my oc, been using it for over a month now and gaming is a dream, in fact a buddy who lives with me could not stand pc gaming, now with my new system I cant get him off my pc!
One great benefit with Reapers is that with many motherboards, you cannot even fit 4 DIMMs due to their ******ed heatspreaders.

Just something to remember.

Shouldn´t be any problem with the new Reaper ver3 that OCZ started to ship in oct 08.

I´ve run 4x2 Reaper ver3 on my Rampage Formula, Maximus II Formula and EP45-UD3P with no problem.

I think that the height should be more of a problem with some heatsinks, like TRUE for a example.

They do ~1125MHz in both 2x2 and 4x2 on all three boards with ~2,2v (OCZ recommend 2,1-2,[email protected]).
The G-Skill PI 8800's can do 1125mhz @ only 1.9v, they can do more though

x2 on that

I can't seem to get my Pi 8800s anywhere above 1170 no matter the votlage or memory strap/multiplier used. They do 1160 at 2.0V no problem but anything higher....
