I've had this problem before and it fixed itself somehow, but it seems to have come back (after roughly 1.5 years of being fixed), what is happening is sort of weird to describe but I'll do my best:

Lately when playing games on my computer the game/pc will suddenly stutter/lockup for almost half a millisecond (It's barely anything but noticeable), and then work fine. The stutter/lockup is so short, that it's barely noticeable but still there. It also only occurs maybe once every 5-10 minutes or so, and I've only been able to notice it so far in gaming, not browsing, running videos, etc.

Also, I'm fairly certain that when the stutter happens, the audio isn't affected. Music I may have playing in the background through WMP or Winamp don't stutter, and neither does ventrilo. Also, if I do not have music running through Winamp, etc, the in-game sound does not stutter, just the video.

For example, I am playing League of Legends, with a constant FPS of 40-50, and even when the stutter happens, the game does not lose FPS. It does not jolt down to 1 FPS then back up, it consistently stays between 40-50, the game just literally stutters itself.

Any help's appreciated.

4830 sounds a lil weak imho
have you tried enabling VH sync

Do you have automatic windows background imaging / indexing going on?

Check your running services, I used to use black viper as a guide myself.
