Rattling fan

Hi, I have an Antec 3 speed 120mm fan (extra from an antec 1200 case) that I am using as a sidefan. I have it on a fan controller but when I turn it up to medium or full speed it rattles like crazy! Sometimes I can turn it off and on or kick it a little and it will go away for a bit, but it always comes back. It is not vibrations from the case, it is coming from the inside of the fan. I have tried blowing it out, no luck. Any ideas on what to do? I guess I may just have to open it up and clean it out.

Is it screwed in securely?

You can buy rubber fan screws to dampen vibrations
Sounds like an unbalanced fan... RMA time.
@Symek. I actually did not use screws, I have it secured with zip ties. They are very tight and the fan does not move.

@DuckieHo. Darn. I bought it from a friend who did not need it. I guess I will need to order a new fan if there is no way to fix it.

It seems to go away if I hold the fan flat, but it rattles more when it is vertical.

You can apply a piece of tape on one of the blades or hub to attempt to rebalance the fan. Of course, you would need to know how off-balanced it was....

Ok, I guess it does not hurt to try! Thanks for the input.
