Hi folks,

My QPad MK85 bit the bullet over the weekend, and i've been told RMA could take up to a month.

I cannot live without a mechanical keyboard, typing this hurts my soul. hah

Well, I found a great deal on a Blackwidow Ultimate 2013 but I keep seeing snippets of warnings about the Synapse 2.0 software. (Practically half price from a couple of months ago)

Is there anything I need to be weary of when I get this keyboard?

Isn't that Synapse 2.0 some form of spyware? And what is this about once you use it, you have to keep it?

Never had any issues with any of my razer products , go for it

Cracking keyboard! I have the non ultimate, never had any trouble with it! Only advice i can give is don't use razers latest firmware for it as you cant downgrade if you dont like it! Do some research first.

Never had any issues with any of my razer products , go for it

I have never had any issues with any of my Razer mice but as for keyboards I have had tons of issues. Letters that wear off in a matter of weeks/months, feet that break off too easily, and quirky lighting control.

I do not own the keyboard you are talking about. However, looking at the reviews it seems some people are having a very specific issue with the 2013 version.

I had a BWU 2013 for a couple weeks but decided to return it. It's a nice board, but overpriced and not at the level of a Ducky, Deck or Filco IMO.

It was £40 cheaper than the Ducky, they have a stock of US layouts to clear. (Im in the UK) heh

I have the older Blackwidow Ultimate and never really installed any software for it seeing as I have no real need for macros. It's a good keyboard that can take a beating but the gloss does invite smudges and grease. The font can be a little weird to get used to but it's up to the individual. I don't really like the placement of the USB and audio ports as they get in the way of the mouse.

If you can get it for less than it's retail price then go for it but at retail it's a bit of a tough price to swallow. I managed to snag mine used for $50 but have since moved on to the CM Storm Trigger w/ brown switches.

Some of those reviews are from 2010 so they obviously are not for the new 2013 model. I would disregard Amazon and just listen to the community here.

As for me mine will be coming in today via FedEx along with the new Deathadder and a Razer mouse pad. I'll let you know what I think.

I have the 2013 deathadder and the synapse isn't as bad as everyone claims it to be. Install, change settings, turn to offline mode and stop it from loading on boot with msconfig.

I believe this still saves the settings.
