Hey all,
A friend of mine just got a new PC and he only has one issue. As soon as he exits UT2K4 his system will go BSOD (cept without the message, just the plain blue screen) and then reboot. Upon starting windows he gets the system error message below:

BCCode : 1000000a BCP1 : 9D082240 BCP2 : 00000002 BCP3 : 00000000

BCP4 : 8051EC1C OSVer : 5_1_2600 SP : 2_0 Product 768.1

Does anyone know how to fix this? I think it's a driver problem but I don't know which driver it would be.

He's got the gold version, with the extra weaps, lvls ect. I've never had probs with mine and I got it as soon as it came out.

I'll get him to try it. Is there anywhere I could search for the error to tell me what it means?

ok, thx. But just for anyone else who might know, is there a place for looking up the meanings of windows error messages?

No, he's not OCed. It says there is a problem with a driver or device I just don't know which one.

This may be a little late but I've only just joined the forum.

It would be helpful to know what hardware your friend is using, in any case try running the game in OpenGL mode:

Open the UT2004.INI file in the UT2004\\System directory
with Notepad or Wordpad find the [Engine.Engine] section and amend as follows:

[Engine.Engine]
;RenderDevice=D3DDrv.D3DRenderDevice
;RenderDevice=D3D9Drv.D3D9RenderDevice
;RenderDevice=Engine.NullRenderDevice
RenderDevice=OpenGLDrv.OpenGLRenderDevice
;RenderDevice=PixoDrv.PixoRenderDevice

Save the file, give it a whirl!

I had this same problem with my system blue screening when I exited UT2004
and this fixed it ~ let me know if it helps!

Hmm strange...depends on what UT2004 picked up when scanning your system it 'thinks' that OpenGL is the most compatible for your system I guess (aka I don't know
)

Under Settings
There is a tab for Render Device
Here you can change between the different modes; if not you can Edit the INI file and change it manually:

[Engine.Engine]
RenderDevice=D3DDrv.D3DRenderDevice
;RenderDevice=D3D9Drv.D3D9RenderDevice
;RenderDevice=Engine.NullRenderDevice
;RenderDevice=OpenGLDrv.OpenGLRenderDevice
;RenderDevice=PixoDrv.PixoRenderDevice

If this causes problems then OpenGL Is probably the best mode
