I will be getting c2d and asus p5b deluxe soon and I would love very much to be able to OC it. I need to know a good heatsink/fan to keep it cool enough to OC well. I am thinking from 1.86 to 3.0 <img alt="" class="inlineimg" src="/images/smilies/thumb.gif" style="border:0px solid;" title="Thumb"> Thanks alot, please share all info and evenst you have had with any item.<img alt="" class="inlineimg" src="/images/smilies/biggrin.gif" style="border:0px solid;" title="Big Grin">

Get the best. TT big typhoon, Scythe infinity, or tuniq tower. All three will do very great. Just pic waht looks good to you.

From what i've read, you don't need a top-of-the line heatsink or fan to OC Conroes. I would say get some AS5 and an low-end after-market heatsink/fan. It will be enough to get to 3GHz. You can use the money to maybe upgrade RAM or any other component (like the GPU).

Not true. Those things run quite hot when yuo overclock them! Get a good cooler, like the ones pbasil1 recommended. If you look for the Big Typhoon, see if you can find the VX version.

Try and get hold of a Sharkoon Redshock if you can and then fit a high speed fan too it.......works a treat on my C2D<br><a href="http://assets.overclock.net.s3.amazonaws.com/5/5c/5c118fa5_vbattach34395.jpeg"><img src="http://www.overclock.net/image/id/616151/width/525/height/525/flags/LL"></a>

He's very late in the game for a <a href="http://www.frozencpu.com/products/1449/cpu-tnq-01/Tuniq_Tower_120_Ultra_Silent_CPU_Cooler_T-120.html?id=Nbzckt3P&mv_pc=520" target="_blank">Tuniq Tower 120</a>, so most likely a TTBT will be the 2nd choice or the Scythe which also seem to be pretty good.

I decided on this:<br><br><a href="http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.asp?Item=N82E16835106061" target="_blank">http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16835106061</a><br><br>
Should do me fine right?

BTs are known for their awesome cooling properties. Nice choice there.

Is a BT better than Scythe Infinity? These are my two main choices for cooler too.. aside from the Tuniq which I probably won't be able to get a hold of

I was thinking though, it is huge and would go almost to the side of the case and the antec nine hundred doesnt have a side air duct I dont think. Will this be an issue? I was thinking it might but then again the nine hundred is a air moving beast so...

haha, Clayton, your build and goal is starting to look more and more like mine, I guess I'll use you as my guienea pig. I just bought the big typhoon a week or so ago. That thing is huge! It should be ok in the nine hundred, I've asked that very same question in the nine hundred thread.

</div>It's not *that* big ... and the nine hundred is a pretty bulky card. Plenty of clearance

My E6600 runs about 20 degrees with the air temp just about 60 degrees with the Sythe Infinity. And it fits fine in my Antec Nine Hundred. I have only one fan on the Infinity now, I am thinking of using two, but not sure. I know I don't need it anyway.
