Those Sony's are absolutely garbage. The Polk Monitor 30's are great, but not for $120. They're usually on sale for like $80.

Or you can look into Dayton B652's from Parts Express. They're only $30 and sound very close to the Polk Monitor 30's.

I'm actually using my Dayton B652's as my rear channel in 7.1 right now.

They are very great at $30. I was honestly happy using them as 2.0 speakers too.

Daytons on amazon. Are these a good price?
http://www.amazon.com/Dayton-B652-2-Way-Bookshelf-Speaker/dp/B002RMPHMU/ref=sr_1_2?s=electronics&ie=UTF8&qid=1318032276&sr=1-2]Amazon.com: Dayton B652 6-1/2" 2-Way Bookshelf Speaker Pair: Electronics[/URL]

Also still cant find any info on the "8 inch sub"

OH also my amp is a Yamaha AX-500u... might as well ask... is this going to work fine with those Daytons?

That price is absolutely horrible. They're $29.90 on parts express (plus shipping unless you spend $100, then its free shipping).

Those Sony's are garbage, ignore them.

If you can increase your budget $11 more, you can look into the BIC Venturi DV62si's for $111 free shipping.

EDIT:
What's your budget for a subwoofer?

Oh damn i thought it was 30 shipped... well its 12 bucks shipping so its actually a little cheaper on amazon... also I've got prime.

OK, should i just order the Daytons then? these are just rear speakers. I will do the front ones later.

And onto the topic of a sub... what should i get? what is good up to $150?

PE's shipping is kinda expensive, for me it would be cheaper to buy off Amazon but it depends on where you live.

Back to parts express. For $150 subwoofer again, you won't beat a Dayton. Not being brand loyal here, but on a tighter budget, they just can't be beat.

Dayton SUB120 - $150 Shipped.

Add those B652's in at Parts Express while you're at it then, since your order will be over $100. Save another $12 that way.

EDIT:
Back when I had a SUB120, it was linear down to about 28Hz. That's very low for a $150 subwoofer.
