More of my recommendations:
Enemy at the Gates 2001 with Jude Law, and another WWII movie Schindler's List 1993 (its in black-white though).

Dude, that defines it. I'd definitely throw in:

Gladiator
Fight Club
Team America (funny...)
All 3 LOTR
All Star Wars
Amelie (I liked it...)

And, of course, The Boondock Saints

Pretty much anything Jerry Bruckheimer does is good. Film wise and also tv wise

i've never seen Starship Troopers, but the book is definitely not comical. it's a poltical book set in the future, just like BSG is a drama set in the future.

Ahhh... yup. The movie chopped the book to pieces and turned it into a parody. don't get me wrong, I liked the move. It simply was VERY different than the book.

LOL!!! BOOK!??? Try Starship Troopers the boardgame! It was by Avalon Hill. Anyone remember those golden oldies?

Anyway, I thought the movie was pretty entertaining. The followup movie, Starship troopers II, was also good grade B entertainment.
