Hey guys,

I just ordered my first smartphone yesterday. I got an HTC Droid Incredible brand new for 30 bucks on sale!

This being my first android phone, what apps or tweaks might you guys recommend? As far as apps go I don't need too much but what do you guys use the most? Are there any instant messaging applications that function like Digsby or Trillion? Thanks!

IM: Meebo or eBuddy, best free IM applications IMO. If you're willing to pay, Trillian is available too

I'd consider replacing your stock launcher with LauncherPro or ADW Launcher. Much faster and slicker than the default launcher

You can find both of them in the Market.

If you feel really ballsy, head over to xda-developers and dabble in custom ROMs! You won't regret it

Some of the custom ROMs are immensely faster than the stock ROM and offer alot more functionality

Feel free to just browse the market and find your own stuff. Some of my items are pay items, but are really good and worth paying for, but do your own research before deciding to pay. Most of my stuff is free though.

If you want absolutely everything simca has given you a pretty complete list. What I usually do if I find something lacking on my phone is I do some googling and find an app that can fix the naggling issue I'm having. Thats worked 99% of the time and if you have some trouble just ask here

As for an instant messenging app, I've found ebuddy is the best but that might just be me.
