QDC'3 do, the QDC4's need an 3/8 to 1/4 adapter. As to how much I can't say, depends on how many you use but I'd put the QDC's at least a blocks worth if not more.

Shawnb99 suggestion is reccomended. Otherwise go to the industrial/medical grade qdc like cpc colder ones

I've used nothing but Koolance fittings, barbs qdc's etc for the last 15 years at least without any issues and I've tried many.

I used to have the ones EK supplied with their EK XLC and Phoenix kits. They are rebranded CPC QDC's and are amazing in quality but buying them straight from CPC is expensive as can be.

Yes, barb + compression fitting with a plastic locking collar / hose clamp.

Look at cpc colder metal ones like lq6. Pretty stuff but expensive as hell. Also needs adapter in NPT size to convert back to conventional watercooling standard fittings and tubing dimensions.
