Reformating HD?

Can i reformat my HD on the bios? cause i got the code purple thing and i want to reformat it so i can install a new OS. Thanks!

No, insert your Vista disk. When it says "Do you want to install Vista onto this partition" "Bla", Press Format. Your disk is now formatted.
In the bios, no you cannot. You can put in your Windows Vista disc and then at boot-up get it to boot the disc and then from there modify the partitions through there. That's what I do (I use XP disc) when I want to reformat my partitions.

I have never used Vista though, but if it's anything like Windows 7 install, it will be there

Yes, if you have 2 partitions, you can dual boot XP and Vista. If you have 1 partition, you can upgrade your XP with Vista

When you install Vista it will ask you to format the XP partition or save your old XP files in a folder (not all files will be saved).

Unless you install Vista on another partition (must be a primary partition). Then you will get a dual boot.

Ah ok, ill just get rid of XP and go with vista then
so i can see how good the DX10 is

Make a 60GB partition and install the OS on it and then when use the rest of the GB's for storage.
