anyone?
ok first question is this. do you intend to reformat ur hard drive? do you intend to upgrade windows? if u r not reformating ur drive or u r just upgrading ur OS then ur programs will be intact. but then question is this. Y would u want to do that? you can easily just repair the installation of windows. but of course you can reinstall the windows without affecting the earlier installation. but if you are more precisem, i can help u in more detail.

as for repartitioning ur drive, u can use a 3rd party software like PowerQuest partition magic to resize the partitions without any loss of data on the 2nd and 3rd partitions. either that or if you dont want to fork out extra money, copy everything from partition 2 into partition 1 (primary partition), then delete the extended partitions 2 and 3. then recreate a new partition 2 with the total combined space of both partitions 2 & 3.

If you format the drive, your programs and such will not work unless you use the repair feature, but its really just best to go with a full format, you can then delete all the other partitions and resize them in terms of megabytes (1000mb=1gb) so if you wanted a 20gb drive you would type 20000.

if you are reinstalling windows XP, then no, becuse of the regisitry.

It may take awile, but just format EVERYTHING, you iwll notice a diffrance, PLUS, most games need to be reinstalled anyway with the new Gfx card....
