tommorow i get my asus 6970, my motherboard has no intergrated, so do i uninstall r5450 drivers (how?) and then put my 6970 in and hope for the best, as i heard when you get a new card to delete all your old drivers?

I'm not sure how it is with AMD drivers. Haven't owned any ATI or AMD for some time now.
But as far as Nvidia, most of the newer drivers for the more recent cards are the same as with the older cards.

I assume it is the same for AMD.

Same Drivers should work for both cards, but I would update to the latest drivers with the new card.
That's what I did going from 4870 CF to one 6970 had no issues.

As long as he's on a current driver that has support for 69xx cards. If yer unsure, just download the 11.4 previews or 11.3 and do the driver uninstall, install routine.
