Hey guys couple of days ago i reformated my hard drive went to microsoft and downloaded the feb version of direct x, now i've been trying to install nfsmw on my computer but it keeps on telling me i need directx 9c or higher. i have installed all the directx 9 that i can download still no go. how can i delete all the direct x files that i downloaded and installed?

doesnt it ask you if you want to install DX9.0c?

YUp it asked me to install directx but i already did. the problem i can think of is, I installed the FEB 2006 version then DEC 2005 ver then the regular directx that came with my CD. And normally Directx can be seen on my remove program files but i cant see it

lol,ok... why would you install older versions after you put the feb.06 version on?

maybe reinstall the game and when it prompts you to install DX9.0c... say yes and leave it at that....
or maybe you can browse throught the cd for the DX install executable and just run that... but you may not be able to find it...

Well i installed the latest version which is the FEB version yesterday since i jsut got done reformating and couldnt find the CD with the original directx. then tonight i started to install nfsmw and it kept on asking me to install directx which i thought i already did ( feb version ) so now i tried downloading the feb and reinstalled it rebooted then reinstalled nfwms same ish asked me for directx again so i installed dec version same ish again then i found the cd where my original directx was and reinstalled it, rebooted reinstalled nfsmw and same ish keeps on telling me cannot install nfsmw game requires directx 9c or higher which i already isntalled.. GRRrrrrr

well have you updated windows...? you aid you reinstalled windows, have you updated? it comes with all the updates...if not that im stumped... maybe a different game comes with DX9.0+
