Okay so I gave up on vLite and windows 7, it can't even rebuild the image properly.

Can I remove stuff like the 10GB of language packs that get installed? I don't care for foreign language support and it takes up tons of space. That and Natural Language service needs to go, thats another 3GB

Google isn't helping... Ideas?

It seems to only let me remove english.. Hmm.

So what the hell is taking so much space?

last time I removed a couple things and got my install footprint to 6GB. Now its a cow at 19GB fresh from install.

Also: how can I remove stuff like "Help"

Between turn-off features and uninstalling programs, I don't know any other way. That foot print is rather large though. Windows 7 should come in around 10GB. Have you tried to disk cleanup in start/programs/accessories/System tools ? You could have some temp files still on there. I'm assuming this was a clean install and not an upgrade. If it's an upgrade, you'll still have the old os in the windows.old folder.

Edit: You can also try uninstall programs/ upper right hand corner there is an option to view install updates, then you can uninstall any updates but this is highly unrecommended.

From where do you want to remove Help?

I want to remove the windows help data files. Total is 200MB compressed. I can't imagine what it unpacked to.

I cant remove any updates other than the ones I just installed....

Disk cleanup did nothing..90MB free.... I disabled Hibernate and system restore, that got me some space back...

after copying my steam folder I now have 30GB free. This is why I am so tight on space

Then it sounds like you need to start installing things to a different drive other than C:\\.

in the windows explorer seach bar type in " size:gigantic " this will give you a list of all big files. Memory dump files alone can be 500mb+. You might have hidden a 6 hour porno on your hard drive away from "prying eyes" and forgot about it.

Maybe it has something to do with it being the Enterprise edition.
