So I'm a little bit tired of running SLI, as it runs way hotter than I like, 80C in league of legends (might be because of dual monitors though). What single card would pretty much match sli gtx 260 performance. Money is not really a problem, so i can get a gtx 480 if you guys think it would be a good idea. nvidia is my preference.

Well the problem i have with watercooling them is that they are "kinda" old cards and it seems like a waste to me. If i was to ever watercool my computer it would be after i get a brand new just released product to make the most of it.

what brand of gtx 480 is the best right now, assuming their is a better brand.

asus
if you go evga you will have to get their SC versions as they bin their cards

asus doesn't bin their cards AFAIk so it will be the luck of the draw but i've heard loads of 470 owners including me get ok vid's of .975...not sure about 480s though

I'd go with a non-reference cooled one. http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16814187117

Or wait for the MSI Lightning. It has the Twin Frozr III.

GTX470 will roughly match them. That's what I upgraded to from SLI GTX60's

I'd take the GTX 260's out and pop 1GB GTX 460's right in their place.
The GF-104's isn't a heater like its GF-100 brothers and the SLi performance makes Bugs Bunny cry.

If money isn't an issue, the 480's in SLI makes the 460's look foolish. That Caliber card runs very cool. The Godfather is only seeing 70c in Kombustor.

i know you said you would like to stay with nvidia but if heat is a problem you should really look at ATI. those cards run alot cooler.

Not really. 460's run cool. My 470 runs pretty cool. If you go GF-100, just make sure to go non-reference on the cooler if you're worried about heat.
