The rear 120mm CPU exhaust fan which came stock on my 500R finally gave out today - any recommendations for a replacement? If I understand CFM vs. static pressure correctly I want something with a high CFM right?

I couldn't find an OEM replacement fan for the 500R, but the 120mm rear fan for the 400R should be identical...

I'd ideally like to find something better than the OEM fan. I've got a few CM 120mm R4s in front and a 200mm Megaflow on the side panel, as well a cheap 120mm at the top and bottom as intakes, so maintaining positive pressure shouldn't be an issue. I've got 2 6970s in CF which are quite noisy even during low intensity activity like browsing, so dB isn't a big problem on the new fan provided it's not crazy loud.

Are things running hotter with no exhaust fan?

Things are indeed running a few degrees hotter without the exhaust. It definitely made a difference.

Cougar makes great fans, good bearings lots of airflow. they come in PWM and normal. I have two of these in my 500R
