So far I've been using my old 15 inch trinitron but the color and size of this thing is so inconvenient that I've decided to buy a knew one, the samsung 2233rz seems like a great monitor and the thing I like most about it is it's 120hz refresh rate but I doubt that my 5770 will be able to but out 120fps at I higher resolution so would the extra $100 be worth the 120hz?

If you want CRT-like high refresh rate, yes, it's more than worth it.

I realize that but if my 5770 cant go over 60fps then it wont matter which it won't in most games.

It will still refresh at 120hz. Say you're getting 90fps in-game (or even 60) it'll still appear smoother than a 60hz display.

It all depends how much you desire the high refresh rate. Personally, I don't even play slow-paced games on my 2493HM (24" 1920x1200) anymore. The 2233RZ is in no way a better picture, but the smoothness of 120hz is too hard to turn down.

Are you saying that the 249HM has better picture quality that the 2233RZ I thought ips panels had batter colors. EDIT: Nvm about the ips panel I read wrong.

It's a shame Samsung discontinued the 2233RZ, Hopefully they're working on a replacement model.
