Replacing Media Center

191 Views 3 Replies 3 Participants Last post by  Lige
Alright, so while I have used Windows XP MCE, Ultimate Media Center, and Windows 7 Media Center.

I overall like Windows 7 Media Center, but I would like to replace Windows Vista's Media Center with Windows 7.

I know that in Server 08, there was a program that extracted the ehshell and other files for Media Center to register with Server 08. Now, is there a program or a possibility/feasibility that this could work similar to 7 and Windows Vista?

Any opinions, ideas, suggestions, walkthroughs, etc.

Thanks

I've wondered if this could be done as well, but I'm not sure that it can. I'll keep an eye out for anyone who knows differently.

Possibly vLite? Probably not but maybe...

Also, wait a minute, are you saying that someone figured out how to put Media Center on Server08???

I'd be very interested in learning how to do this. Good luck with your project; let us know the results.

Yeah, well, sorta... they figured out all the files and things needed:

That is what I want to try to do on Windows Vista Ultimate, except instead of using Vista's Media Center, Use 7.
