I have a Thermaltake V9 BlacX Edition and it has hardly any room behind the mobo for any decent cable management... My plan is to cut holes into the motherboard tray (like so) and insert rubber grommets. Even though that will give me better cable routing, the problem is after I have done that I still dont have enough room behind my tray for all of my cables to fit back there. Not to mention tubing if I ever water cool this thing.

The holes and grommets are easy... What I need are suggestions on how to increase the space of my side panel through modification to accommodate the cabling/tubing. Or figure out a replacement panel that will fit in it's place that has a sort of bump out to it (PREFERRED).

Lots of metal fabrication work. If you have the tools and knowledge you can easily create a bump out on the side panel.

I wonder how well fiberglass would work...

EDIT: Nah, that would look weird having a full Aluminum case with one side of fiberglass.

IKEA hacking. Check the kitchen section for an aluminum or cheap steel baking pan/cookie sheet or whatever else will work.

And fiberglass is a PITA if you've never done it. I've done it once and not relishing the thought of ever trying it again.

Thats a good idea. I have experience with fieberglass, just not sure how it would turn out for a side panel on a case
