so as someone mentioned should i get a evga 7950gx2 and upgarde to a g80 when released? 90 days being into the new year i might manage to get a g80 refresh card , do you think this will be the way to go?

If you need a vid card now then the 7950 will be a great choice but if you feel you will need to upgrade to the g80 on the day of release then buying a 7950 now would be daft better to buy a 7950 gt if you feel that an upgrade would be immnent

Anything EVGA, then step-up. Especially if you currently don't have a video card and won't be able to afford a 8800GTX when it comes out in the next few weeks ( . . . supposedly).
