hi guys

just bought a pair of 2GB ddr3 mushkin radioactive with 7-9-7-24 timing yesterday.

manually set the timing in bios and went to test memtest.failed test 5.seek help from mushkin forum, was told to either add .1-.2 volt to cpu nb vid, update to latest bios or set memory multiplier 6.66 and fsb 240.

did first two and still have error in memtest.the third worked.before that, ive bumped the vdimm to 1.67v without adding cpu nb vid and updating bios and it worked too.tried the third solution and it passed the memtest and ive decided to stick with that.

problem is,got error in hyperPI 32M and custom prime95. in hyperPI,got error after loop 7 or 8.in custom prime95,got error afterfew minute.

time to rma(the dealer assured me that he can give 1 to 1 exchange) or there is other solution that i can follow.thanks

hi again

ive rma the mushkin twice...the second was so defective that the heatsink slipped when i tried to insert to ram slot and the paint on one of the ram is already chipped when i receive them...

got the ram back yesterday...they assured me that they tested the ram and it passed memtest...it did with default setting and voltage...
what got me is that it would fail memtest in prime95 blend into 5 minutes, 3 out of 4 cores. adding vdimm didnt solve this but adding vcore and vimc did...ive set the vcore to 1.5v n vimc to +0.3v...its high but i was thinking, what the heck, ill eliminate the prob by the quickest way possible
any opinions on this?
