Don't ask me how, but my sister's kid somehow managed to rotate their desktop by 90 degrees, so now everything is horizontal and mouse movement is altered. Anyone remember how to flip this back? I looked around, but couldn't seem to find it.

</div>If she has a non-onboard video card, most can be flipped with the software bundled with them. nVidia's desktop console can be flipped back by just right clicking on the icon in the tray at the bottom right. It might be a little difficult to get there, but it will be worth it to turn the screen back.<br />
<br />
EDIT: ATI's console has a rotating option too. Just right click and find the card, then just go to rotate display.

Do what he said, and if not you could be a redneck and just flip the screen.

This happened at my school. In the software there should be an option to rotate, so just rotate it back.

CTRL+ALT+S if you have PowerStrip installed, which I doubt you have.

Well, Cntrl+Alt+Arrow keys didn't rotate the desktop. Anyone else have an idea? <br />
<br />
To the above poster, no, I don't have Powerstrip installed on her comp. Her machine has never been touched since she bought it and i've actually never even seen it.<br />
<br />
PS I've found how to do it on my other comps, but she has onboard video :/

1. Right-click Desktop<br />
- Any context Menus for your display adapter? No? Continue.<br />
2. Click Properties<br />
3. Go to the Settings tab<br />
4. Click the Advanced button<br />
<br />
-Is there any extra tabs after Color Management? Search through those.<br />
<br />
What type of onboard is it? Intel Onboard? Xabre, Nvidia, ATI? Look in your system tray for anything running from those Manufacturer's<br />
<br />
If you can't find anything in the Advanced window, and nothing is running in the system tray that would do that go into safemode and see if it's still sideways. You may need to remove and reinstall the driver.

</div>BIOS has nothing to do with Windows settings and will not reset them.

</div>She might be able to disable the onboard graphics and then renable it to get it to work.

</div>Wrong, windows will boot and go "*** lol no video?" wait for you to reboot it and when it detects it again it'll say "Oh there we go now lets set this up like last time, there we even put the rotation back in! Yay me!"<br />
<br />
Much better results from removing it from the Device Manager and reinstalling the driver.

</div>Am I the only one who think this sounds like a cheat code for some fighting game (hint:street fighter)?<br />
<br />
Anyways, I have been running vista for at least 3 months now and I forgot how to use windows XP. I think there are options in the display properties. Right click on desktop, select properties, go to display, and go to advanced options (or something like that) there should be options to rotate the screen. I remember seing that there when I had my Geforce 440 agp.<br />
<br />
Try that and let me know if you find the options. i will try it on the computer in my office at work tomorrow to see if I can be more specific...
