Hey guys, i need a recommendation for a router. im using a WRT54G right now w/ a custom fw. (i believe its DD-WRT.) so anyways, i need router so i can bridge this to my Xbox 360. anyways, my xbox is about... 20 meters from the router, and i need something that is reliable and will not give me any problems setting up the bridge.

Im thinking about a WRT54GL or maybe an N router.. i havnt decided. the most i will spend is 80. (or maybe 100.) no newegg, must be local. (Bestbuy.ca, Futureshop.ca, Canadacomputers.ca, ect.)

thanks!

N has more bandwidth and is more future-looking.

Basically, when it comes to wireless, G is the new B, because N is the new G.

This is the router I always recommend,I know you can find it at one of the stores around you.

so im guessing that the WR160N is the best buy for my price range?
It's actually a pretty good router,I installed one at my brother's house last month and he can go all the way out to his garage(100+ meters) and still get a good signal. But if you want N wireless speeds you'll need a N adapter also.
ahh gotcha. i guess im gonna get it and put DD-WRT on it... i dont have any N adapters, just G. no problems though right? still really good signal?

What's wrong with the router you have now? You should have no problem with the Xbox 360 talking to it.
