RROD Tutorial Fix that I used on a v1 Xbox360

I just fixed a v1 XBOX 360 that my sisters boyfriend gave to me. Hey, you can't beat a free RROD v1 360. But, I wanted to tell everyone on here what I used, and exactly and what I did. I used these video tutorials made from someone named lawdog0931 on xbox-scene.com.

Here is the forum thread link. Here is the tutorial on paper. Here is the youtube link for all the videos that lawdog has up.

Finally here are all the videos.

My 360 has been on for 4 hours now since I completed this. I'm also going to turn it off after I play the Orange Box for a few hours. Then turn it back on when its totally cool and play again.

I have been reading around the forums and some people say it will last an hour, a day, week, months, or even years; it really just depends on how lucky you are I guess. But, I will update this if I have any problems or if I get the RROD again.

Glad you got one fixed yourself, but then again, yes, this is ONLY a temporary fix. This console will fail again, there is no definite time that it will fail, but I will say that is eventually will end up failing again.

This fix, a long with all others, are ONLY temporary fixes done and it will not solve the issue forever.

Lawdog's console on Xbox-Scene has failed numerous times prior to the original tutorials written and his own post.

These fixes are not permanent, but it's awesome if you get a broken console like you did and get ANY amount of playtime out of it.

This tutorial is really nothing different than the other tutorials, nor is it anything new based on all the other RROD threads on here.

Still it's cool you did it yourself. I love it when people get a console working again for any amount of time.

Check out the link in my sig for information about the revisions.

Cheers.

You can pick one up off eBay fairly cheap. Just get a 203W supply, and it'll work for any future consoles as well.
